I write. It’s a 24/7 occupation because if I’m not doing it, I’m thinking about it or thinking about doing it.
After years of writing non-fiction, I made the leap—a big one—to fiction. My first historical novel is complete—at last—and searching for a home. Agent and publisher interest welcomed.
I’m a writing coach because I love writing and writers. I am immensely grateful to many superb mentors and I want to pass on those skills. Sharing what I’ve learned with other writers keeps my creative practice charged up and always improving.
Listen to my Podcast
Storylines started as book-talk radio show on a local Muskoka radio station where I hung out with other authors and talked about their work. It was always a joy and a learning experience and I eventually turned it into my own podcast, featuring past episodes from the radio show as well as new interviews. You’ll find some past shows on this website. Subscribe to my Facebook Page for announcements of upcoming shows.
Past Community Work
I love building and being part of a community of authors – I think we all do our best work when we support each other.
I’m currently focusing on my own writing work but here are some projects I’ve founded and worked on in the past—and will likely come back to someday!
- Coaching starts with finding out if we’re a good fit. I’d love to spend some time getting to know what you need. Get in touch via my Contact Page if you’d like to discuss a specific project or find out when I’ll be available.
- Moss Pillow Publishing is an indie publishing imprint specializing in a “whole-enchilada” service for corporate histories. I am not currently taking new commissions but get in touch with me if you’d like to get on my waiting list.
- Legacy Writing Partners is a not-for-profit that pairs storytellers with scribes, for a little help in getting their wonderful, real-life stories committed to paper. As I used to say, in my LifeGems Personal Histories days, “Everyone has a story. Every story deserves to be told.“
